Day 71 of the BP Anderson Cooper boycott (and of the oil spill too). For over two months, the silver-haired correspondant has made a sideshow of the British oil company’s refusal to appear on his show “I know it’s a free country, but….”, “I’ll get early up if that’s what it takes….”, and so on.

Here’s how you can make the best of this. Every night when Mr. Cooper starts his “where’s my guest?” rant, take a drink. Think of it as a new game of “Goodnight Bob”. Your cue is “Every day I invite BP to appear on this show and everyday they refuse“.

Pick your drink of choice ahead of time. A White Russian, perhaps?
