There’s been a price reduction on property that adjoins newsman Anderson Cooper’s home in Quiogue.
Cooper’s neighbors, Stephen and Kay Frankfurt, had originally listed nine-plus acres of land for sale for $10.8 million. In May, the couple sold an acre of vacant land for $800,000, records show. The remaining parcels are now listed at reduced prices, says listing agent Robert Murray of the Corcoran Group.
The bulk of the estate is Notamiset, a 7-acre farm where the Frankfurts have lived for the past 25 years, raising llamas, ducks and guinea hens on the property, Murray says. The price for the property, which includes a 6,600 square foot Colonial home on Quantuck Bay, with a dock, grotto pool, stables and corrals is $6.95 million. An additional one acre parcel is available for $795,000.
Frankfurt is a graphic designer and art director who created promotional packages and titles for many Hollywood blockbusters, including “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Network” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Cooper’s neighbor on the opposite side is also selling. Betsy Schulberg, wife of the late Budd Schulberg, an Oscar-winning writer, is asking $3.5 million for the 2.6 acre waterfront property they shared. That home is listed with Paul Brennan and Kent Rydberg of Prudential Douglas Elliman.
Budd Schulberg, who wrote the screenplay of the film, “On the Waterfront,” died a year ago in August at the age of 95.
