Cooper and Freeman Family History: Not Related

In an interview with Morgan Freeman on Anderson’s “Second Chances” show, he and Morgan bond over having family roots in Mississippi.
Freeman was recently honored in Meridian, Mississippi with “Morgan Freeman Day,” which included a star on the town’s Walk of Fame. Anderson’s grandmother had a general store during the ‘40s and ‘50s in Meridian, and he still has family in Quitman, not too far from where Freeman graduated high school.
Freeman says to Anderson, “We got history, man…" "Maybe we’re related,” says Anderson. With a stern look from Freeman, he responds, “We’re not.”
