For many, a cup of coffee offers an essential kick-start to the day. But it seems this is not the case for American newsman Anderson Cooper - who tried the caffeine-filled drink for the first time yesterday.

segment on his American talk show, Anderson, yesterday

his surprise that so many people drank it
The 44-year-old was not a fan of the hot beverage after taking a sip on his new CNN afternoon talk show, Anderson.
And the silver-haired presenter could not fathom why so many people drink it every day, complaining: 'It just seems so watery.'
Giving his verdict after taking a cautious gulp, he added: 'Really? That's what people drink everyday? I don't see the point in that.'

Cooper then went on to try something else that has never passed his lips before - spinach.
In fact, picky eater Anderson revealed he is not a lover of vegetables in the slightest, saying he has not tried most of the green variety.
As for the spinach, it was 'gross' and 'slithery' in his esteemed opinion.
