What a Night! Scenes from PAPER's 7th Annual Nightlife Awards
By PAPERMAG
PAPER hosted our 7th Annual Nightlife Awards ceremony last night at Hiro Ballroom and we're still reeling from all of the fun. The evening featured a performance from the inimitable Mary J. Blige, who's on the cover of our upcoming October nightlife issue and who performed her new single "25/8" as well as classic jams "Real Love" and "Family Affair." There were celebrity presenters on hand including Swizz Beatz, Estelle, Andrew WK, Michael Musto, Patricia Field and Paul Iacono, and we even had a real-life crasher who jumped on stage to plug her album or something. Pretty fancy! Of course, let us not forget amazing mistress of ceremonies Wendy Williams, who told the room full of nightlife bigwigs, newcomers and general freaks,"You're my people." It was a fantastic night and we want to congratulate everyone who won and everyone who was nominated. You're all big deals in our book and make going out in New York fun.
Thank you also to Hennessy, MasterCard, Fiji Water and the Maritime Hotel for helping us have such a great night.
Anderson's boyfriend Benjamin Maisani whose new bar, "Bedlam," was nominated for three awards: Best New Party; Best New Bar/Lounge; Best Door Person (Michelle Salem), and won one for:
BEST NEW BAR/LOUNGE
Madame Wong's
Mister H at Mondrian SoHo
Saint Vitus Bar
Bedlam
The Lambs Club
The Drink
PH-D at the Dream Downtown
WINNER: Bedlam
Congratulations to Benjamin for his Award!
My reliable not-so-secret agent Cwm368 from YouTube, found out that both Anderson & Benjamin attended the party, but they arrived a few minutes apart -- weird, eh? Seen and photographed together at the after Oscar party, and hidding this time. Huh?

BUT: My reliable not-so-secret source Cwm368 from YouTube, also found this picture of Anderson & Benjamin having dinner after the awards party:
All in all it was a loooong and full day for Anderson: the "50/50" movie quite early in the morning; 'Anderson' taping at 10:30 AM; taping of another 'Anderson' episode afterwards; AC360 at 8:00 and 10:00 PM; the awards party at night; and dinner with his boyfriend quite late that night. Work out sometime within that schedule... Go to bed and start it all over the next day! Pfffiu! How does he do it? Where does he get the energy to do all that?! And he looks as good, as fresh and happy as a healthy 20 year-old with no worries in the world... No wonder we admire him so much.
