September 27, 2011
Anderson Cooper has a new-found appreciation for CNN senior political analyst David Gergen, who recently spent some time with George Clooney at his Lake Como villa for an interview for PARADE.
Cooper caught David Gergen's tweet regarding his weekend at Clooney's villa, and it make for a great RidicuList segment on 360 Monday night.
"10 hrs sleep, 20 hrs talk, 1 nasty hangover, nonstop fun: reflections on my stay with Clooney at his Lake Como villa," Gergen tweeted Monday morning.
Gergen, 69, sat down with The Ides of March star to talk about politics, life at 50, and what he's learned from failure in the Sept. 25 issue of PARADE. Gergen also wrote about his experience with the actor in a follow-up piece, recounting his wild weekend in Italy.
Gergen describes being "hammered" and following Clooney as he jumped into Lake Como at 2 a.m.. In an attempt to avoid having to board his flight in wet clothes later that day, Gergen wrote that he "stripped down to my skivvies, climbed that darn fence ... and whoa, it seemed like I was 30 feet above the water. One... two... I was in the water by three. It was very dark, a little cold, but terrific."
