NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman has said CNN host Anderson Cooper is gay.
Despite never acknowledging – or denying – that he's gay, Cooper has become a staple on gay glossy Out's annual list of the most powerful and influential gay people in America. (A distinction he shares with actress Jodie Foster.) Cooper, 44, ranked 3rd in this year's roundup, just ahead of fourth-place finisher MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
On Monday, Cooper premiered his new syndicated talk show Anderson. He also hosts the CNN news show Anderson Cooper 360.
During an interview on In Depth, Rodman, 50, offered host Graham Bensinger his thoughts on the gay community and Cooper's sexual orientation.
“The gay community is very cool. Because gay community really drives a lot of things about this country. And all of the sudden things are so cool with the gay community. And it's cool because they ain't need to be segregated now. They can just, okay, great, that's fucking cool. Look at the guy on 360, they got a news guy, he's fucking gay as fuck and he's still making 25 million fucking [dollars] a year.”
“Back then it was like, 'Oh my God, he's gay!' If I told people I was gay, they would say, 'Oh, we knew, we was just waiting for you to come out!'” Rodman added.
