Kathy Griffin makes CNN New Year's broadcast a memorable one VIDEO
Smallscreen News
Say what you will about Kathy Griffin, the flame-haired comic flings it like a monkey and no one is safe, least of all co-host of last night's New Year's broadcast, Anderson Cooper.
A freezing Griffin and Anderson were cutting to commercial as she let loose with a torrent of comments. During her moment, Kathy was interrupted by a loud drunk and she quickly wheeled out a classic Mr. Show bit as a slag.
Griffin barked: "I'm working! "I don't go to your job and knock the dicks out of your mouth!"
Recently Bravo network announced that it signed Kathy to a one-year deal, which she confirms, and it includes a fifth season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and calls for her to tape two comedy specials during her current nationwide tour as well as host the A-List Awards in 2009.
Kathy told Variety that the deal was settled after "a bloodbath negotiation where I won none of my battles."
Kathy tells Us Weekly her show will become more celebrity-oriented.
Asked to name some of the celebrity guests, Kathy said, "I can't tell you, but please call Bravo! I'm actually getting a lot of people that I want to, and it's really, really exciting."
Griffin is considered an icon and is revered in the Gay community for her straight talk and hilarious deconstructions of sacred cow celebrities.
