Anderson Cooper Offered $1M To Get Rid Of The Gray
by Verena von Pfetten | 9:13 am, August 19th, 2010
Here’s a riddle for you: Would Anderson Cooper still be Anderson Cooper if he didn’t have that perfectly cropped and groomed head of silvery hair?
At one point, the man must have had dark hair — he wasn’t born a silver fox. (Or was he…?) One company, however, is willing to pay Cooper $1 million to ditch the gray for 60 days — and they’re dead serious.
Rise-N-Shine, the company behind a product called “Go Away Gray“, says they’ve offered him a $1 million paycheck, and in exchange, Cooper would have to take their pills for 60 days, and use Twitter and Facebook to share his experience. Says the product’s developer: “We feel like Anderson Cooper is a really visible and well-respected figure and thought he would be a great spokesperson for the product and the company.”
Be that as it may, we can’t imagine what Cooper would look like without the gray — that’s almost as bad as asking him to remove Disaster Zone Black Tees from his wardrobe! And what sort of gravitas would a brown-haired Cooper bring to our television screens? Finally, we’re not sure shlocking a “Go Away Gray” pill falls under the guidelines of CNN’s ethics policy. But Rise-N-Shine thinks they have a shot: “While Cooper may not need the extra cash, he may decide to go ahead with it and donate the million dollars to a worthwhile charity.”
There’s wishful thinking.
