Anderson Cooper Pokes Fun at Snooki

She earned it.

Snooki knows she's popular, but a popular *joke*, right? If she doesn't, then she should just be happy that people like Anderson Cooper know her name... even if they are expressing their distaste about her salary, in comparison to her education, attitude, and proclivities.

Shall I just say it? Snooki is a phenomenon, but she's still a gross one. I'd like her if she channeled some of the attention she gets into an appropriate cause, but she's one-dimensional. At least Anderson Cooper agrees with me.

After Snooki got paid more than Toni Morrison to speak at Rutgers, where she talked about the benefits of the GTL lifestyle, I got especially sad. Honestly, that news came out on April 1st, and I assumed it was a joke. It wasn't.

"Snooki is one impossibly lucky, unusually spunky, freakishly tan, beer guzzling, juicehead hugging, muscle loving, Botero body, pint-sized money-making machine," Anderson Cooper said when introducing his RidicuList on Anderson Cooper 360.

About Snooki's new $100,000/episode paycheck, Cooper added: "If you listen closely, you can hear school teachers around the country weeping right now."

I wonder how the other Jersey Shore girls feel about Snooki stealing their thunder. They might actually have moments where they think similarly to Anderson Cooper--why is she so popular? After all, Sammy Giancola hasn't been on the cover of Rolling Stone, and I doubt she will. Is she jealous?
