Report on CNN’s Cooper: Obama absolutely U.S. born

Anderson Cooper and CNN dispatched investigative reporter Gary Tuchman to Hawaii to look into the Barack Obama birther controversy. In excerpts from Monday’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ released to the media, Tuchman will offer proof that the president was born in the United States.

Tuchman interviews Dr. Chiyome Fukino, a former director of Hawaii’s Department of Health. A Republican, Dr. Fukino says she has seen Obama’s original birth certificate in the state vault.

“It was absolutely authentic,” she says. “He was absolutely born here in the state of Hawaii.”

Donald Trump, who has reignited the birther issue to propel his presidential ambitions, will respond to the findings.
