HBO 'Game Change' wants extras, photo doubles
As reported here, HBO's "Game Change" started filming in Baltimore Wednesday, and the folks in casting are now looking for lots of extras, as well as photo doubles for Katie Couric (CBS), Anderson Cooper (CNN), Carl Cameron (Fox News), Gwen Ifill (PBS), Charlie Rose (PBS) and Vice President Joe Biden.
"You know, Anderson Cooper, the hottie," says Dagmar, the head of DC-based Central Casting, which is putting out the call. "Everybody loves that guy, Anderson Cooper. He's hot and we need someone who looks like him. Joe Biden, too, he's hard to find. There aren't a lot of people who look like him -- he's got a certain look."
But he's not such a "hottie," is he?
As Dagmar (sorry only one name) describes it, the actual media personalities, like Couric and Cooper, "won't really be in the film, but we need people who look like them for certain scenes."
And she wants them fast -- some could be working as soon as next week.
The real Couric will be more or less between jobs in a few weeks, so maybe ....
And in the case of Ifill, she's wanted for the scene in which she moderates the vide-presidential debate. How many days of filming can that be? And she is based in DC, after all ...
Here's the address to which you can submit a photo: gamechangeextras@gmail.com.
Dagmar says to send a picture, age, phone number, height and clothes size. And send it soonest.
"And it doesn't have to be a professional picture," she says. "Just shoot it on a phone or something. We just want to see the look."
The clothes size is especially important for extras, she says.
"I have scenes next week with policemen, so you want to know the sizes for uniforms."
I have had quite a few inquiries from readers asking how they could be extras on "Game Change." Here's your chance.
The film, which is based on a best-selling account of the 2008 presidential race, follows the GOP campaign of Senator John McCain from the time he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate until their defeat in the general election by Barack Obama.
The film stars Julianne Moore, Ed Harris and Woody Harrelson.
It will be shooting "in and araound Baltimore" for the next one to two months, according to HBO.
