‘Anderson’ Finds a Studio… In The Same Building As His Other One
By Alex Weprin on April 15, 2011 -- 11:35 AM
Telepictures has announced that its upcoming talk show “Anderson,” hosted by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, will tape from Jazz at Lincoln Center, specifically from The Allen Room (pictured right), a multi-tiered space with sweeping views of Central Park and the Columbus Circle fountain. Despite the name, “Jazz” is not located at Lincoln Center, but a few blocks south at Time Warner Center.“It is an amazing space, and I am really excited to be taping the show there,” said Cooper in a statement. “It is a beautiful theater, and totally unique. It allows me to have great interaction with the studio audience and great access to the streets and people of New York.”
Taping it at Jazz also allows Cooper to be just a few floors away from his CNN offices and studio, also at Time Warner Center.

Cooper staying close to home for syndie yakker
'Anderson' has nailed down a venue

Anderson Cooper yakker "Anderson" has nailed down a venue: The hourlong daily syndie strip will originate from Jazz at Lincoln Center's Allen Room in the Time Warner Center. It's a short walk for Cooper -- CNN is housed in the labyrinthine building, as well, and the complex is located at the southwest corner of Central Park, giving the show the opportunity to take in the great Manhattan outdoors as desired.
"We didn't want a cookie cutter show in a traditional studio," said Hilary Estey McLoughlin of "Anderson" producer Telepictures Prods.
Talker, set for a September bow, is exec produced by Cooper and Jim Murphy, with Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution distributing.
I had to ask what "syndie yakker" in the title means, as well as "Talker" the first word of the last paragraph.
Alan tells me that it is Hollywood talk for:
syndie yakker = syndicated talk show
talker = yakker = talk show
