Don't Blame Miss Piggy For H1N1
Hollywood celebrities and media professionals hit with H1N1 -- how to know if you have Swine Flu

Amid continuing increases in reports of flu outbreaks around the [Hollywood] Los Angeles area, the LA County Department of Public Health opened the first of its H1N1 Vaccine Clinics Friday, October 23 and will continue to open at at least 64 locations between now and the second week of November.
Reports are coming in from around the world that the Swine flu is “crowding out all other flu viruses and appears to be the dominant strain in the Northern Hemisphere at this time,” according to the Canadian government. Talk about fame of a viral outbreak causing scare and panic, spreading quickly around the world, and now costing what is likely to be a medical fortune!
This illness is one thing celebrities have that is turning into a trend that people do NOT want to get.
Anderson Cooper found out while he was hosting live on the air from the news anchor chair that he has been sick with H1N1 since visiting Iraq and is back at work in New York City (probably working the anchor desk still contagious). Miley Cyrus is rumored to have Swine Flu despite her media camp denying that the epidemic gossip about the celebrity teen is true. Rocker Marilyn Manson has the virus according to a new post on his MySpace account. President Barack Obama has declared a national emergency status with more than half of the United States reporting epidemic levels of the illness spreading.
The CDC recommends taking these everyday precautions (and funny Hollywood Gossip source Chexydecimal adds the following tips) to avoid getting sick. We've placed the best advice in italics :
• Avoid contact with people if you, or they, are sick. Also avoid people who make you sick.
• Stay at home — from work, school or other public activities — when you are ill, or just feeling like you deserve a day off.
• Shield others from your coughs and sneezes by using a tissue, or your t-shirt sleeve, whichever is more convenient.
• Wash your hands often -- obsessive/compulsive disorders can save your life!
• Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose or mouth, and if you're a stooge, keep them away from others.
• Maintain healthful habits — get ample sleep and exercise, drink fluids, eat well, know where to get good Chinese food.
Currently, there's no vaccine for humans that prevents swine flu, though scientists are working on one. Do not hold it against all pigs -- and FYI, eating pork products cannot cause this unless they have been prepared and contaminated by infected humans.
How do you know if you have H1N1, the name science has given to that which the media told the rest of us was going to be not-so-affectionately known as Swine Flu? What are the symptoms of the disease which has rose to unparalleled 21st century contagious disease fame thanks to the media?
CNN is reporting that you can actually check yourself out medically online. There are websites that allow you to plug in your list of symptoms and it will tell you the result, bacterial infection, virus, H1N1 or not.
