Anderson Cooper Confronts Qaddafi's Rep On Live TV: YOUR LEADER IS LYING

Although he never totally looses his cool, Anderson Cooper definitely got very testy when discussing the situation in Libya with a Muammar Qaddafi representative, Musa Ibrahim, last night.

Cooper asked Ibrahim about Qaddafi's ever-evolving story about the source of the rebellion, focusing especially on the mystery pills that have supposedly been distributed to Libyan youths, making them crazy enough to attack police stations and army.

"It's patently absurd," Cooper said.

Ibrahim, wearing a somewhat dressed-down black jacket and red shirt, unbuttoned at the collar, suppressed the urge to smile as he explains the Libyan dictator's words. Ibrahim blamed the story of the pills and the portrayal of the Libyan government as "media sensationalism," saying the West has "not been very transparent" during the focus on the North African nation.

However Cooper is unconvinced, pointing out that there has been no evidence of any of the pills Qaddafi repeatedly mentions.

"If he's lying about that, and making stuff up about that, why should we believe anything else he says?" he challenges Ibrahim.

This isn't the first time Cooper has directly called someone out for lying on air. During the Egypt uprising he declared the Mubarak regime was lying resulting is some surprising blowback.

Ibrahim also claimed that legions of Al Qaeda operatives are taking over the cities, which Cooper responded as "going against everything our correspondents have reported."
