A Poem For The Violet Queen

In 2008 Alan composed a beautiful song in honor of Elizabeth Taylor,
these are the lyrics, they read like a Poem:

THOSE VIOLET EYES
(for Elizabeth Taylor)

There are many things we could remember her for.
The way she's worn the world in style,
the wealth of her love,
her beautiful smile.
But I'll recall, I will remember,
oh most of all
the look of wonder and surprise
In those violet eyes.

They look with laughter and longing,
they've seen the world go by.
They've seen it all, the rise and fall,
they know the truth behind the lies.
And so she sighs when she remembers.
Oh, the light that shines
through those violet eyes.

You can wait so long
Oh, for people to really change.
She has waited her whole lifetime
so it seems.
Then one day she just woke up
and she knew she wasn't the same.
