Dr. Mike Dow's Diagnosis: Doll Fetish
Friday, August 10, 2012 -- 5:00 AM
When Anderson asks Dr. Mike Dow to explain a person's attraction to a human-like sex doll, Dow replies, "This is a diagnosis called Doll Fetishism, which is a kind of paraphilia ("a biomedical term used to describe sexual arousal to objects, situations, or individuals that are not part of normative situation," according to Wikipedia).
The doc continues, "What's interesting is that we almost always see it in men. Of course, men have more testosterone -- that hormone that makes you want to have sex."
Dow adds, "We all have a piece of this… how many of us have sexual fantasies about something? Well, you can have it in your head, or for some people, they want to take it to the next level. So that's what this is really about."
