'Anderson' Shows Spectacular Growth in Feb. 2012 Sweep Ratings

‘ANDERSON’ SHOWS SPECTACULAR GROWTH IN FEB. 2012 SWEEP RATNGS
NEW YORK, March 12, 2012 -- In only its second sweep, the nationally syndicated “Anderson,” the daytime talk show featuring CNN and “60 Minutes” personality Anderson Cooper as host, is showing huge audience gains across the nation’s metered television markets, including top TV market New York.
According to Nielsen Station Index data for the February 2012 sweep (Feb. 2-29) released today, household ratings for “Anderson” jumped nine percent nationally and soared 50% in New York, compared to the show’s performance in its first sweep, November 2011.
In its key demographics, the “Anderson” story is spectacular.
Its metered-market sweep average for women aged 18 to 49 spiked 25% nationally, and in New York on WPIX it ballooned a whopping 67%. For women aged 25 to 54, the “Anderson” multi-market average grew by 20%. In New York it scored a 25% gain.
Among “Anderson’s” strongest local markets in February were:

• Pittsburgh, where a 27% improvement boosted it to a 3.3/10 (rating/share) on WPXI at 11 am;
• New Orleans, where a 21% hike pushed it up to a 3.5/7 on WDSU at 2 pm; and
• Knoxville, where it grew to a 3.5/7 on WTAE at 4 pm weekdays.
