Anderson Cooper does not delve into satire very often -- but when he does, it is in many ways the work of a genius. Then CNN host decided this week to have a little bit of fun with one of the most shocking headlines out there -- the marriage of 16-year old Courtney Stodden to a man 35 years her senior -- and turn it into a hilarious mock-defense of the young lady.
First, Anderson kicks things off by saying that Courtney is a young girl with strong values -- and then shows a YouTube video of her singing in a bathing suit. Then, he shows another video of her saying that she "will not do pornography" -- which is really not something we would ever question from a teenager to begin with. To make things even more uncomfortable, she then talks about never having plastic surgery.
Cooper seems to be placing most of the blame for this drama on Stodden's parents, primarily since they seem willing to allow her to do whatever she wants -- including marry a 51-year old man and take semi-nude photos draped in an American flag.
