Anderson Cooper slams Mubarak regime for ‘lying’ about their actions (Video)

Anderson Cooper is back from his trip to Cairo, but he is still covering the story of the protests in Egypt with a passion. In the video to the left, Cooper delivers a verbal beating to the Mubarak regime in return for the physical beating Cooper took from pro-Mubarak supporters in Cairo. In the video to the left, Cooper blatantly calls the Mubarak officials liars, and debunks a number of claims from Egypt’s new Vice President Omar Suleiman.

Yesterday Suleiman said made an implied threat against the protesters, saying that the protests cannot go on forever and that “police tools” may have to be used in the future. Cooper points out that “police tools” have been used against the Egyptian people for over 30 years now under the Mubarak regime.

Cooper also took on Suleiman’s claim that reporters and protesters are creating chaos in Egypt. Cooper argues that it is the government creating a “crisis” atmosphere in the country by shutting down the stock market, rail lines, and even the internet. Cooper claims the government is taking the actions to try and create pressure on the protesters, but in the end their efforts failed and now the government is being forced to open up economic activity gain.

Finally, Cooper seemed personally offended by Suleiman’s claim that the government is now allowing for free expression and stopping the arrests of protesters and journalists. Cooper pointed to stories from that day of opposition leaders and journalists still being detained by Egyptian security forces.
