Libyan Eyewitness Speaks To Anderson Cooper: “Either We Get Freedom, Or Die Trying”

In an emotional interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, an unnamed woman spoke from Libya of the uprising in her country. “There was a lot of killing yesterday,” she said, describing the smell of gun smoke and the sound of automatic weapons near her home. “Either we get freedom, or we die trying to get it.”
Of dictator Muammar Gaddafi, she said he was a “lunatic,” whose intentions are simple: “he’s going to do whatever it takes…he’s going to kill all his people. Either I kill them all, and I win, or I kill them all and I die with them.”
The woman played the sound of gunfire she had recorded, and the cracks of weapons were clearly audible. She described a “massacre” not far from her home in Tripoli, but said since she made the recording, the situation had grown more grave. “This is nothing, now it’s worse. But please, we need the media to make him stop this.”
