Kirk Cameron, a born-again Christian who stars in apocalyptic movies based on the last days-themed ‘Left Behind’ books, spoke to CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the recent deaths of groups of wildlife around the world.
According to the Marquee Blog, Cameron, who’s best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the popular 1980s sitcom ‘Growing Pains,’ told Cooper “You know, I’m not the religious-conspiracy-theorist go-to guy, particularly… But I think it’s really kind of silly to equate birds falling out of the sky with some kind of an end-times theory.”
Over the past week, birds and sea life have died in mass in various locations around the globe including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Brazil, New Zealand, Sweden, and Britain.
In both Arkansas and Sweden, experts found the birds suffered internal bleeding and believe they died following some sort of trauma after being startled while in flight. In New Zealand and Britain, the deaths of fish and crab have been attributed to record cold temperatures.
Cameron noted that birds falling from the sky is more related to pagan mythology, involving legends that the gods were either happy or angry with the human population.
He also said it is likely he'll die from some other cause prior to the end of the world occurring.
