CNN's Cooper to focus on Pittsburgh Promise tonight

CNN tonight will feature a segment about the Pittsburgh Promise on "Anderson Cooper 360," Pittsburgh Public Schools said.

The show will include interviews with Franco Harris, Promise chairman and Steelers Hall of Fame running back; Saleem Ghubril, the program’s executive director; and Promise scholar Vanessa Thompson, who attends Chatham University. The three were interviewed by CNN's Dr. Steve Perry, who covers education.

Cooper's show airs at 11 p.m. [10 Eastern Time]

A shorter version of story will air this weekend at various times on CNN’s Headline News and on CNN.com.

About 2,400 students have received scholarship awards from the Promise since it was launched in 2008. The program recently has been featured in USA Today and Parents Magazine.
