'Anderson' continues strong clearance rate
By Stuart Levine
Fall talkshow "Anderson" continues its rollout of clearances around the country.
From Telepictures Prods., chatfest hosted by CNN personality Anderson Cooper has now been picked up by 104 stations representing a clearance level of 82% of the country. Cooper's new daytime deal won't affect his duties with nighttime skein "AC360" on the Turner news cabler.
New markets include Philadelphia (KYW), Dallas (WFAA), Atlanta (WXIA) and Phoenix (KPHO). Show has previously sold to WPIX New York, KTTV Los Angeles and WFLD Chicago.
The talkshow landscape will see some major shakeups later in the year when Oprah Winfrey ends her long-running series Sept. 9. Many have assumed "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will pick up some of those viewers.
"Anderson," based in Gotham, will be distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
