Anderson Takes Time To Joke With Ellen Degeneres On Election Day

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) -- Anderson Cooper may have been experiencing election fatigue, but he took some time out to joke with Ellen Degeneres on her show yesterday. Cooper was live from the CNN studio where him and Degeneres wished eachother a Happy Election Day.

Ellen began by asking if, at this point, he feels as if there's anything he doesn't know about the candidates. "At this point, I don't know what they had for breakfast or for lunch," he said. "But I feel like I can't remember a time where I wasn't covering this election. I'm not sure I existed before this."

Ellen then asked how much a role he believes "dance" played in the election. "I'm actually glad you raised that because I think that is the big unknown. What the undecided voters are gonna do, whether these new voters will show up at the polls, and what I call the 'Ellen Factor' which I think a lot of analysts sort-of miss."

Cooper responded, without missing a beat. "But you played a role in this election which I think historians will recognize years from now. They've seen Barack Obama dance, then followed by Michelle Obama, then have Barack Obama come back on and re-dance, if you will. There were some pretty dramatic moments that you've had on your program."

While politics-hungry viewers go to CNN for their fix, Degeneres asked Cooper what he likes to watch. "We have these monitors on my desk and during my program I like to keep abreast of Dancing with the Stars and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. These are some of the shows that I'm currently kind-of obsessed with," he said.

Upon Ellen revealing that she's never seen "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," the new Bravo reality show, Cooperson acted shocked. "You haven't gotten into Real Housewives of Atlanta? What have you been doing? So you don't know anything about Nene?" He joked. "Oh, honey. You have to really watch it to enjoy the fullness of Nene."
