Fired CNN anchor also set to appear on 'GMA' on Friday
Fired CNN anchor Rick Sanchez gave his first interview since being fired last Friday to RumorFix.com, the newly launched site run by Jay McGraw, son of Dr. Phil McGraw. Meanwhile, ABC News' "Good Morning America" has scored the first TV interview with Sanchez since he was let go for calling Jon Stewart a bigot and said Jewish media workers shouldn't be considered a minority. An ABC News spokesman late Thursday confirmed a Yahoo News report about the "GMA" appearance. In the interview with RumorFix, Sanchez said he made a "mistake.""I did not intend to say that, but I said it -- it's my mistake," he told the site.Sanchez, who was the host of CNN's afternoon show "Rick's List," made his remarks in a radio interview last week."If you screw up unintentionally, you still screwed up," Sanchez told RumorFix, adding: "I have to be responsible for what I do. I tell that to my kids all the time. I have to atone."Sanchez's interview comes a day after the former anchor released a statement apologizing for his "inartful comments." He also has apologized to Stewart for his remarks, his wife said Tuesday on her Facebook page, according to reports.
