True North Rochester Preparatory Charter School teachers, students and Managing Director Doug Lemov, will be featured on the CNN program, "Anderson Cooper 360", tonight at 10pm.
Lemov recently published the book, "Teach Like a Champion", a collection of instructional techniques gleaned from years of observations of outstanding teachers in some of the highest performing urban classrooms in the country.
CNN's reporting focuses on the impact of Lemov's teaching techniques and their resulting impact in changing the landscape of urban education. The story showcases Rochester Prep as a model of that impact.
Rochester Prep is an urban charter middle school which opened in 2006 with 80 fifth grade students. It currently serves 270 students in grades 5-8. The school will expand next year when it adds an elementary school with Kindergarten and 1st grades. Eventually, the school will grow to accommodate grades K-8.
The story on CNN is scheduled to be rebroadcasted throughout the day on Wednesday.
