Mass. Town Approves $20 Fine for Public Profanity -- The Globe and Mail
Residents of Middleborough, Mass. voted 183 to 50 in favor of a proposal by the police chief to impose a $20 fine on cursing in public. The measure targets teens and other young people who are perceived to use loud, profanity-peppered language in parks and other public places. What do you think? Is this a good idea?
NY School Drops 'God Bless the U.S.A.' from Kindergarten Ceremony -- L.A. Times
Greta Hawkins, Principal of P.S. 90 in Brooklyn, vetoed "God Bless the U.S.A." as "inappropriate for 5-year-olds" after hearing it rehearsed.
