Anderson Cooper, beloved American journalist and author, has recently added “television personality” to his list of life achievements after launching his daytime show “Anderson” in September 2011.
He really is a jack-of-all-trades. On Monday, April 16, Cooper welcomed another television personality, widely-acclaimed actor, writer and stand up comedian, Aziz Ansari to the set. Ansari proved to be hilarious both on and off the air of the hit NBC television show “Parks and Recreation,” which also stars Amy Poehler. The comedian had the audience keeling over with laughter within the first five minutes.
To be fair, Ansari has appeared in Funny People, Get Him to the Greek, 30 Minutes or Less and“Scrubs”, so the audience should have expected endless from this comedian who has kept America laughing since debuting in 2007.
Ansari talked briefly about his time growing up in North Carolina with his Indian parents and his time at NYU's SternSchool of Business, but he mainly focused on his new stand up routine, titled Dangerously Delicious (which is available on his website for just $5). He kept me giggling by tricking the audience with a look a like and telling jokes about 50 Cent, Jay–Z, Beyonce and his family.
I definitely recommend everyone check out his work. Next up, “Anderson” will have another star, Debra Messing, as a guest on the show, which is filmed at the Time Warner Center, only a short block away from our very own Lincoln Center.
