Anderson likes to joke that his full name, Anderson Hays Cooper, sounds like a law firm in the 1800s. Despite his self-deprecation, it looks like there’s an Anderson Cooper baby-naming effect happening...
Linda J. Murray, Editor-in-Chief of BabyCenter.com, tells Anderson that BabyCenter.com has named "Anderson" the Baby Name Man of the Year.
His name didn’t make their list of 100 Most Popular Baby Names of 2011. It didn’t even make it in the Top 500 Most Popular Paper Names of 2011. Where did Anderson rank? It turns out his name is listed at #673.
"That's terrible!" says, Anderson. "Really?"
Linda says that despite his ranking, his name has actually risen 101 spots in one year.
A rapid rise? Anderson is hopeful that in 40 or 50 years he will break the top 50.
