Open Letter to CNN’s Anderson Cooper
June 21, 2010 — autisticaplanet
Dear Anderson Cooper,
My name is Allison. I’m 30 and from IL. I’ve watched you cover such events as Hurricane Katrina and most recently the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve also read your book “Dispatches from the Edge”. It hits me that there exists out there a person, one whom I’d be honored to meet, who, despite having money and fame, accomplished the feat of being independent, kind and honest. Inspired by your coverage in LA, I was moved to write the following letter to my newspaper:
My Open Letter To IL Politicians (Sent to Daily Herald)
I’m one more person piling onto the disaster in the Gulf oil spill, but there’s a saying that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Maybe in this century it should be changed to gets the windmill. I have to say I harbor doubts that BP, an oil company, is going to receive the pressure from Washington that it deserves. I voted for many including @ the local, state and federal level who shared many of the same views for our state and country. Sadly, I think too many politicians are linked with greedy corporations (who cut safety measures to cut costs-and further line their pockets). I don’t know if I will even bother with the ballot box this November. IL is cutting services to its most challenged. It seems to me that all one has to do to get screwed is to be born. To get ahead, screw someone else. I use graphic language, because other than money, it’s the only language folks seem to understand.
Regards,
Allison M. Kramer
Though I do have Asperger Syndrome, it cannot limit my entire self. I write poetry. I have taken nature photography. At one time, I was a member of the outside world. I wrote for my high-school newspaper.
I would love to know you, I would love for you to know this. Since posting this on CNN or your 360 blog would be inappropriate and irrelevant, I’m posting it on my blog, where you will likely never see it. Anyway, Anderson, here’s to people like you.
Sincerely,
Allison “autisticaplanet”

P.S. If by chance, Anderson Cooper, you should have the time to somehow see this, please go easy on me if you intend to reply with any intention of thinking I’m a complete dork. I consider myself quite brave for having done this.
