Anderson Cooper event cancelled; Madeleine Albright to speak on April 30
ALTOONA, Pa. – Due to professional obligations with CNN, Anderson Cooper has been forced to cancel his scheduled appearance at Penn State Altoona on April 30, 2009.
While the college is disappointed with this unfortunate and unavoidable development, it has been confirmed that Madeleine K. Albright will speak on campus Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Adler Athletic Complex.
In 1997, Albright was named the first woman Secretary of State of the United States and became, at that time, the highest ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government. Albright is author of three New York Times best-sellers. Her autobiography, "Madam Secretary: A Memoir," was published in 2003. In 2006, Albright published "The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God, and World Affairs." Her latest book, "Memo to the President: How We Can Restore America’s Reputation and Leadership," was published in 2008.
Tickets purchased for the Anderson Cooper event should be retained and will be honored at the door on April 30 for the Madeleine Albright event. Upon entrance to the Adler Athletic Complex, the Cooper tickets will be exchanged for tickets commemorating former Secretary Albright’s visit.
To purchase tickets for the April 30 Madeleine Albright event, or to inquire about refunds, please contact the Office of Alumni and Development at 814-949-5091.
