A small-town girl from Grottoes is heading to New York City for the first time for a national TV interview on Anderson Cooper's talk show.
"I am a little nervous, but I'm sure once I get there and get on stage, it'll all be worth it," said Amanda Pittington, an extreme couponer.
If you missed our story a few weeks ago, you can find it here.
Her garage may look like a store with all of the products, but she actually got them all for free from extreme couponing. Now, she's getting national attention for it.
"I started couponing in the beginning for my family, so the attention came with it, but I'll go with it," said Pittington.
Her extreme couponing landed her a spot on "Anderson".
"It is overwhelming. It's a lot to prepare for, to get done in such a short amount of time, but we're hanging in there. My husband and mom have both been amazing in helping me, so I'm very blessed."
Pittington's mother said that she always expected big things from her daughter.
"I'm so very excited. I'm so proud of Amanda. I always knew she was going to do something with her life, and I didn't know it would be couponing, but definitely, it's her calling," said Pittington's mother, Laura Bolton.
Pittington said even though she's nervous, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that she can't give up.
"It's a big deal. Very blessed, like I said. Just got to hope for the best. I need to remain calm and don't let my nerves get the best of me," said Pittington.
WHSV's Litsa Pappas will also be heading to New York to get a behind-the-scenes look at Pittington's interview with Anderson Cooper.
We'll bring you that story next week.
You can see Cooper's show weekdays at 5 p.m. on My Valley.
