Skydiving Accident Caught On Camera

Skydiving Stunt Gone Wrong

Wednesday, March 21, 2012 -- 5:00 AM

When it comes to the worst case scenario for skydiving, Wendy's story fits the bill. While attempting to perform a "parachute stacking" skydiving stunt -- something for which Wendy holds a world record -- the skydiver in the parachute formation above her branched off too early, dragging Wendy along with her and tangling her up with another skydiver.

Even though Wendy untangles herself, she is left with a shredded parachute, free-falling to the ground...

Wendy's backup parachute was able to save her, but it did not take away from the horrifying moments while her life was literally suspended in the air.

"I was thankful to be alive," Wendy says. "If I'd had a head-on collision with somebody, it would've killed us both."

Wendy says she relied on instinct to know what to do to stay alive.
