Correction - Ann Curry replaced Anderson Cooper at World Refugee Day event
June 18, 12:47 PM
One AC replaced another AC this morning as host of the World Refugee Day kickoff in Washington.
The "Today" show's Ann Curry was the last-minute replacement for CNN's Anderson Cooper, whose flight into D.C. this morning was delayed.
Injured Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was also due to attend the event, which wrapped at around 11:30 this morning at the National Geographic Museum. But, she had to cancel her appearance after she fell and fractured her right elbow last night while en route to the White House, according to her chief of staff, Cheryl Mills.
The former First Lady was immediately treated and released from George Washington University Hospital last night, and is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming week, according to the Associated Press.
"Secretary Clinton appreciates the professionalism and kindness she received from the medical team who treated her this evening and looks forward to resuming her full schedule soon," Mills said in a statement.
It was likely Jolie's idea to grab Curry to fill in for Cooper. The NBC journalist has interviewed the actress several times about her efforts on behalf of refugees, and apparently gets a pass to flirt with her man, Brad Pitt.
Her "Today" interview with the actor last month in Cannes took an awkward turn when she began asking about his personal life. It comes to a head at 5:22 with her touching his face.
