EL PASO, Texas -- ABC-7 spoke with CNN's Anderson Cooper Wednesday evening where he was to report live near the border fence on Paisano near Downtown El Paso.
Cooper attributed the national attention on the border to the recent uptick in violence. "We've seen a level of violence we haven't seen previously, and it's not just the number of people being killed, it's how they're getting killed, the brutality, the beheadings."
He said he wanted to come to the "frontlines" to see "what kind of spillover effect there is and if that's going to affect what authorities are doing."
