Raw Politics: Romney 'birther' remark

Mitt Romney revived the sensitive "birther" issue today while campaigning in his birth state of Michigan. Romney remarked that he and his wife, Ann, were born at nearby hospitals and stated 'I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born... No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.'

In response, Obama campaign Press Secretary Ben LaBolt released this statement 'Governor Romney’s decision to directly enlist himself in the birther movement should give pause to any rational voter across America.'

Later, during an interview with Romney on the CBS evening news, correspondent Scott Pelley asked 'this was a swipe at the President and I wonder why you took it?'

Romney responded 'No, no, not a swipe. I've said throughout the campaign, and before, there's no question about where he was born. He was born in the United States. This was fun about us, and coming home, and humor, you know...'

Anderson spoke to Chief National Correspondent John King and Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger about the comments, and Gloria's new documentary 'Romney Revealed: Family, Faith and the Road to Power.'
