Anderson Cooper Asked if He's Still Dating Ben Maisani
This video makes me cry. I can see that Anderson is going to have to make another very painful decision -- a second coming out of sorts. So we know he is gay; so we know he has a boyfriend; so we know he is having problems with him.
Does Anderson think that the press is going to leave him alone without an answer to this problem? A problem that the press considers one of the most sought after items to report about, a piece of gossip that they consider more valuable than gold! I don't think so. And this video proves it.
Anderson is going to have to write another e-mail like the one he sent to Andrew Sullivan to announce his coming out. Who he'll send it to this time? I don't know, perhaps to Kelly Ripa, it doesn't really matter, what matters is that Anderson is getting himself entrapped in another closet that is even more transparent than the first one.
Anderson may be very good at reporting the ups and downs of other peoples' lives; but when it comes to his own life he has no clue how to go about it. He seems to get himself in one unnecessary secret after another. Unnecessary because those secrets are, really, NO secrets! He keeps hiding in plain view.
Whether you are gay or straight, whether you are famous or not, you yourself have to deal with all the goods and bads that come with a relationship -- and we all know very well that relationships do not distinguish from famous or not. So why run away from its comforts and discomforts which, anyway, are so clear everybody is aware of?
I only hope that one day Anderson will understand life -- his own life! And accepts how he is, who he is, who he is with, who he is without and realize that there is nothing wrong with it, that there is nothing to hide from, that it is life... Just like everybody else's LIFE!
