ELLIOT YAMIN TURNING INTO ANDERSON COOPER? CHILE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER TWEETS (PICTURES)

Elliott Yamin, third-place finisher on season 5 of American Idol is using Twitter from Chile, which was hit with an 8.8 magnitude earthquake early Saturday. Yamin is in Chile for the Via del Mar International Song Festival. On Twitter, Vina del mar International Song Festival. Yamin's Twitter account is http://twitter.com/elliottyamin. He has been phoning into CNN to give live updates on what's happening. His initial message read: “I just escaped w my life,from an 8.3 earthquake!!!…is everybody ok?…where was the epicener?” followed up an hour later by “Hey everybody…we r totally safe and sound 4 the time being…I’m finally calmer,and dawn is approaching,which will help!..thx 4 ur prayers.” You can follow his tweets today at the above address or check in to CNN throughout the day to hear more of his eyewitness accounts of the devastating event. Is this a valuable experience for CNN? Definitely so! Eyewitness accounts of such huge events are the most important way for them to attract and keep their audiences throughout the day.
