'Anderson' Auction Benefits Puppies Behind Bars
Wednesday, April 25, 2012 -- 5:00 AM
Today's "Anderson" featured a live auction featuring some incredible items, including an emerald ring and an "Anderson" mystery box. Proceeds from the auction benefit a worthy cause, Puppies Behind Bars, which gives inmates the opportunity to raise a puppy that will later be trained to be a service dog and paired with a veteran suffering from PTSD, or post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Gloria Gilbert Stoga, Founder and President of the organization, appeared on the show, saying, "The organization is win-win. The inmates learn compassion, they learn responsibility, and for veterans who are coming home wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan, there's nothing better than a dog."
There was even a puppy named after Anderson, isn't he adorable?
[It's not an adoption organization, it is a more humane service, please read about it.]
