Sen. John McCain talks to Anderson Cooper about the U.N. mission in Syria that he views as useless. "It gives the people who might be helping more pause while assurances are given by the U.N. that we ought to give this a chance," said McCain. "It would be fine to give it a chance if they weren't still killing people."
He criticizes President Obama for "doing nothing" to end the violence. McCain says the administration's rhetoric and economic sanctions are empty threats "against a person who, as we know, is slaughtering its citizens and the latest of course being killing people who talk to the U.N monitors."
