So this is what happens when cable news anchors are on air for hours longer than they originally expected.
Results from the Iowa caucuses lasted through the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and anchors, particularly those at CNN, started to become, well, a tad delirious around 1:30 a.m.
During one gem of a segment, CNN's Erin Burnett and Gloria Borger were discussing caucuses results from one of CNN's many election coverage gadgets, the magic wall. Things started to get a tad out of hand when Burnett was unable to "flick" graphics between screens. After three attempts, some theatrical hand gestures, and noticeable on air laughing, she successfully moved the graphics and tossed to Anderson Cooper.
Cooper seemed to notice that his colleagues were beginning to lose it, and asked "have we all just given up?'" Cooper's comment made the entire set burst out in laughter.
Ali Velshi attempted to move on by continuing with his report from CNN's other gadget, the social media screen, but Cooper cut him off almost immediately. "The social media screen, again with the social media screen. My Lord. This is the third hit, I still don't understand what the hell this thing shows!"
Velshi tried to maintain his cool, but Cooper kept poking fun at Velshi's use of the board and told him he was doing a "thankless job." Cooper had made his feelings towards CNN's gadgets clear early in the evening. He started the night off by mocking the network's newest election coverage wizardry, which he called Weebles.
