Anderson: 'I Love Me Some Dolly Parton!'
Thursday, January 19, 2012 -- 4:59 AM
She's a country music legend, singer, songwriter and superstar... today the one and only Dolly Parton joins Anderson in the studio to celebrate her 66th birthday. The music trailblazer is talking about her new movie, "Joyful Noise," and answering all kinds of audience questions -- about everything from her early days in Tennessee to the number of wigs she takes with her on tour.
"I was a poor girl... I always wanted to be pretty," Dolly tell Anderson. "There was a town trap, the lady who walks the street in our hometown (everyone has one), but I thought she was the prettiest thing I ever seen."
"Your look was modeled on..." says Anderson.
"The town tramp! That’s the truth!" insisted Dolly.
Did you know Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus' godmother? She says she doesn’t get to see her as often as she’d like, but that she's a "special gal." Take a look...
Like Anderson, Dolly is very thrifty and likes to go to Walmart. "When you go to Walmart," says Anderson, "does the place go bananas?" See her response...
