The State Column | TSC_admin | Monday, May 02, 2011
Speaking to Anderson Cooper on Monday night, Thomas Friedman, a New York Times columnist, said that “someone’s got to kill bin ladenism.” When asked to explain this, Friedman professed that the extremist ideology of Bin Laden will continue despite the leader of Al Qaeda’s recent death.
When asked to comment on the future of Al Qaeda, Friedman said that in the Middle East “stability has left the building.” Friedman explained that instability in the Middle East will end in one of two ways. Instability could lead to democratic transitions throughout the Middle East or instability could lead to another Pakistan or Somali.
