Yesterday morning a couple of guys who where passing by noticed a human face etched in the knotted bark of the tree. They both screamed at once and ran giggling to tell Mr. Graphitoff about their find.
Maurice and Alain both said they recognized immediately the resemblance of Anderson Cooper, the American CNN journalist they both have been so fond of for years. The word spread at the speed of light and soon there were pilgrims from around the world kneeling and crossing their chests in front of the apparition.
Mr. Graphitoff kept shooing the people out of his property to no avail. The multitude kept arriving by the hundreds. Most of them carrying gifts for the apparition: flowers, small animals, food, iPods. One woman from Spain wanted to leave her 12 year old daughter at the base of the tree, but Mr. Graphitoff insisted she take her daughter back with her or he would call the police, which at one time he had to do because the crowds were starting to expand toward his rows of vines.
We contacted CNN in New York but they denied any such event. We insisted and requested to speak with Mr. Cooper but were told he was not available. Meanwhile we learned through the most unlikely of sources, Mr. Graphitoff's wife, that Maurice and Alain had already been contacted by Anderson and that Mr. Cooper was going to fly to Brussels on the first flight possible to meet with them. The place of their meeting was not disclosed.
Another of my rants that my evil invisible friend forces me to report. Deveelis, my evil invisible friend, insists that all this is true. I refuse to believe him but I am loosing the battle. Isn't there a tree in Belgium, about one kilometer south of the German border? So, how more difficult would it be that it has Anderson's face etched on it? No, it's not true! Yes, it is! No, it's not! Yes, it is! No! Yes..!
