Major TWC Channel Changes in NYC
07/20/2009
New Yorkers: Get ready for some confusion next month when you turn on your TV. Looking for Anderson Cooper? You might find Oprah “After the Show” instead.
That’s because Time Warner Cable is doing some serious shuffling to its channel lineup. FX, BET and others are moving up in the order. CNN and the Cartoon Network are two that are moving down.
The advent of DVRs and digital channel guides hasn’t stopped networks from paying to get a lower channel number, at least in New York. Just today, NBC Universal released a press statement saying how giddy it is that Oxygen and mun2, two of its properties, were leaping up the channel order.
TWC is also adding several new high-definition channels in August.
