Beets before Drinking

Bradley Cooper 'Beets' a Joke to Death

Posted Jun 5th 2009 11:41AM by TMZ Staff

With "The Hangover" coming out this weekend, the dudes from the flick keep getting asked the same question about the cure for overconsumption -- but they're all using the same stock answer: Roasted beets.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zac Galifinakis have all been asked for a hangover cure here, here, here and in the video above -- but they're losing some serious style points because they keep dropping the exact same answer.

But does anyone know if beets really help though? Seriously, it's the weekend, we gotta know.

Ey! If that's all they ask him "What do you take for a hangover?" What's the guy to respond, "Roasted beets" yesterday; "Tarantulas smeared with peanut butter" today; "a Rum & Cola Ice Cream float" tomorrow."? Jeez, if the beets work, that's what he's going to say... or tell a lie.

Why is Bradley Cooper featured here? Because he's handsome, because his last name is Cooper (although there is no relation to Anderson), because he was talking to Anderson on the Regis and Kelly show yesterday, because he's handsome, because today he's IN (tomorrow he might be not) because he seems like a nice guy, because he's handsome...

I am not promoting this picture, I have not even seen it. But I think all three stars are very funny, quite talented and quite cute. And I hope the movie is a big success.

O'Reilly's at it Again!

Rick Sanchez Rips Bill O'Reilly For Lying About CNN And Murdered Army Recruiter (VIDEO)

Huffington Post | Danny Shea
First Posted: 06- 5-09 03:45 PM | Updated: 06- 5-09 04:07 PM

CNN's Rick Sanchez slammed Bill O'Reilly Friday afternoon for his claim that CNN didn't cover the murder of Army recruiter William Long until Anderson Cooper's featured the story on "AC360."

"CNN is supposed to be the news channel," O'Reilly said to Editor & Publisher's Joe Strupp. "CNN says we don't do opinion, we do news. Only Anderson Cooper at 10:00 covered this story. Nobody else! All day long it wasn't news to cover an army recruiter gunned down in Arkansas?"

Sanchez then proceeded to play a "Daily Show"-like montage of clips of CNN anchors and reporters discussing the story all day.

"Let's see, that was Kyra Phillips, Tony Harris, Heidi Collins, Lou Dobbs, certainly you saw myself, you just saw David Mattingly there, Wolf Blitzer, we saw Kiran Chetry, we saw Erica Hill — that's nobody?" Sanchez asked.

"Let's add this up together now," Sanchez said. "We led with the story when it broke. We led with it again the next day. We analyzed the terrorism angle with experts and called former FBI agents to take us through it. And as a network, we covered the story umpteen times throughout the days, throughout all hours of those days. But Bill O'Reilly says he only saw it once. And since he only saw it once, well then that must be the truth. It doesn't matter what really happened. It doesn't matter what the record shows. All that matters is what Bill thinks he saw. We called Fox today, by the way. No response yet."

Sanchez ended with a comment on O'Reilly calling CNN the "news channel."

"O'Reilly did get one thing right," he said. "We here at CNN do say we're in the business of doing news. You know why? Because we are. And while we are far from perfect, we do check our facts before we say things. And if we get it wrong, we say so. And that is called reporting."

Watch:

Oh, Those CNN guys, they are Oh, so cute!

Rick Sanchez is a CNN guy! Therefore...

And of course, our favorite guy IS CNN!

O'Reilly, O'Reilly...

... What a Douche Bag of Lies!

O'Reilly falsely claimed that on CNN "only Anderson Cooper" covered army recruiter's murder

6 hours and 7 minutes ago

SUMMARY: Bill O'Reilly falsely claimed that on CNN, "[o]nly Anderson Cooper at 10 o'clock covered the story" of the slaying of Army recruiter Pvt. William Long. In fact, in addition to the coverage on Anderson Cooper 360, CNN covered Long's shooting on 15 shows from June 1 through June 3.

The 1 p.m. ET hour of the June 1 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 2 p.m. hour of the June 1 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 3 p.m. hour of the June 1 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The June 1 edition of Lou Dobbs Tonight.

The June 1 edition of Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull.

The 6 a.m. hour of the June 2 edition of American Morning.

The 9 a.m. hour of the June 2 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 10 a.m. hour of the June 2 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 11 a.m. hour of the June 2 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 1 p.m. hour of the June 2 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 2 p.m. hour of the June 2 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 6 p.m. hour of the June 2 edition of The Situation Room.

The June 2 edition of Lou Dobbs Tonight.

The 10 a.m. hour of the June 3 edition of CNN Newsroom.

The 1 p.m. hour of the June 3 edition of CNN Newsroom.

When O'Reilly stated, "CNN says look, we don't do opinion. We do news. Only Anderson Cooper at 10 o'clock covered the story. Nobody else," his guest, Joe Strupp of Editor & Publisher magazine, replied, "You're right."

From the June 3 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:

STRUPP: And also, the cable channels as well. They're over-covering things like this one all the time.

O'REILLY: Not this one. Not Sergeant Long.

STRUPP: Things get over-covered all the time.

O'REILLY: No way. Look --

STRUPP: It doesn't mean it's right. I agree.

O'REILLY: On CNN, only Anderson Cooper --

STRUPP: But you can point to a lot of issues where that happens.

O'REILLY: CNN is supposed to be the news channel, all right.

STRUPP: Isn't Fox and MSNBC supposed to be news?

O'REILLY: No, no, no, but CNN says look, we don't do opinion. We do news. Only Anderson Cooper at 10 o'clock covered the story.

STRUPP: Right. No, I --

O'REILLY: Nobody else.

STRUPP: You're right.

O'REILLY: So, all day long, it wasn't news to cover an Army recruiter gunned down in Arkansas.

Now, there is something else in play here, Doctor [Jeff McCall, DePaul University journalism professor]. What's in play is the zealotry on the part of the editors in the newspapers and the producers on television to promote abortion rights. That's what this is all about.

Because, you know, and I'm sure, you know, Joe, if you read the coverage, the late-term abortion was diminished. It was, "He was an abortion doctor. He was a mainstream guy" -- when he wasn't. He was an extreme guy. One of only three in the country. That's what I think drove this Tiller story. And again, the hook on the poor private murdered. There was no hook. What are going to do, bash Muslims? As you said, that's not in the narrative. But let's deal with the intensity of the Tiller situation. It was driven by the abortion rights crew, was it not?

Is your pet, living or not, happy or sad? Ask psychic

By David Zizzo
Published: June 4, 2009

I have discovered something shocking: I’m psychic. Not the kind of psychic where dead people help you solve crimes or the kind where you can look into the future and determine if people will meet someone special or take a trip but not pick winning lottery numbers or hot stocks.

I’m psychic like Sonya Fitzpatrick, the pet psychic who talks with TV personalities in the traditional audible way while communicating with pets in that other way.

"She doesn’t feel she gets enough variety,” Sonya told CNN’s Anderson Cooper his dog just revealed to her. "She’d like a little bit of chicken. She also likes cheese.”

After receiving eerily similar communications from my own dogs, I have come to realize that I too have the gift. Just the other night, my German shepherd communicated to me her displeasure over the dry cuisine I offered her, and I somehow knew that she would prefer something from the poultry or dairy portion of the food pyramid.

Psychic vibes I receive from my other dog, a mutt of unknown lineage and unexplained self-confidence, come through even clearer. For instance, I instantly know exactly when he wants to go out for his daily run. Maybe it’s telepathic canine energy he aims my way or some cosmic tweet he sends over nature’s wireless network, but when he glares at me as if I were a cheese-dipped drumstick, shrieks and makes a flying leap at my midsection, I somehow know it’s time.

If you do not have the gift, don’t worry. Fitzpatrick will perform a half-hour "personal reading” of your pet, alive or not, for $300. Ten dollars a minute is steep, but it’s worth that to find out if your pet is happy or sad, is afraid of balloons or likes bacon grease. Or maybe has some message he wants to pass on to his master.

What’s that, fella? Buy British Petroleum? Good boy.

There is a year difference between these two photos. Do you see the difference? I do... He is, definitely, handsomer in the more recent photo, which comes to prove that he IS getting better and better and more irresistible with age! Heaven help us next year!!!

The current site showcases iGoogle homepages from celebs such as Rachael Ray, Al Gore, and Katie Couric. The showcase also highlights web celebs like Kevin Rose, Arianna Huffington, and Seth Godin.

The iGoogle Showcase lets you copy your favorite celeb's iGoogle page to your own, or browse through the collection and choose different gadgets and themes to include from varying pages. STARS

Horoscopes for Wednesday, June 3

Jun 03, 2009 04:30 AM
Phil Booth

Thought for the Day: The moon is progressing through the breathing-in phase as it waxes towards fullness. Obstacles, barriers and restraints are gradually easing up with each day. You're getting an enormous boost upward and onward.

If today is your birthday: Within two months, you will unexpectedly discover a way to achieve a long-desired goal. The stars are taking you on a journey along a road to success. An idea that was once derided as a nutty caprice will become an attainable reality. Happy birthday to CNN's Anderson Cooper, 42.

Gemini (May 21 — June 21)

For far too long, you have been stuck in the wrong kind of rut, but you've been forced to face a memory that has been holding you back. This will prove to be the first courageous step in redesigning your life.

(Click on the image to enlarge to huge proportions. *SIGH* He was and still is SOOoooo cuuuttte!!!)

Horoscope

Work behind the scenes, alone and to your own benefit (!?!) So, if today is your birthday, either don't work or spend it all by yourself! (LOL) Oh, and be healthy.

Horoscope: June 3

Georgia Nicols, National Post
Published: Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

If you work alone today or work behind the scenes, you'll get a tremendous amount done. However, you'll want to work for yourself and your own benefit, and that's OK. If you don't take care of yourself, how can you take care of anyone else? A healthy self-interest is a good thing.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Television journalist Anderson Cooper (1967) shares your birthday today. You're a wordsmith. You know how to enlighten others; you also know how to reach them. People find you entertaining and witty, and invariably seek out your company. You have a warm heart at high standards for yourself and others. However, you need the respect of your peers. (You never work in a vacuum.) In the year ahead, partnerships and close relationships are important.

Another Present!

This one I made for you, Anderson. They say that "a rose by any other name is still a rose" Who said that? Plato? Aristotle? Homer? Ovid? Descartes? St Aquinas? Hobbes? Spinoza? Hume? Nietzsche? Sartre? Le Marquis de Sade? William Shakespeare?! Well, he was wrong. A rose, or a geranium for that matter, by any other name will not be Anderson Cooper... Nor would he smell as fragrant nor would he tell the news so dreamily.

Anyway, just watch and compare (or is it shop and compare...?) Whichever. Enjoy!

Just for you Anderson and all his fans:

Poema de Amor
(para Anderson en su cumpeaños -- June 3, 2009)

El sol
nos olvidó ayer sobre la arena,
nos envolvió el rumor suave del mar,
tu cuerpo me dio calor,
tenía frío
y, allí,
en la arena,
entre los dos nació este poema,
este pobre poema de amor
para tí.

Mi fruto, mi flor,
mi historia de amor,
mi caricias.

Mi humilde candil,
mi lluvia de abril,
mi avaricia.

Mi trozo de pan,
mi viejo refrán,
mi poeta.

La fe que perdí,
mi camino y
mi carreta.

Mi dulce placer,
mi sueño de ayer,
mi equipaje.

Mi tibio rincón,
mi mejor canción,
mi paisaje.

Mi manantial,
mi cañaveral,
mi riqueza.

Mi leña,
mi hogar,
mi techo,
mi lar,
mi nobleza.

Mi fuente,
mi sed,
mi barco,
mi red
y la arena.

Donde te sentí,
donde te escribí
mi poema...
Love's Poem
(for Anderson on his birthday -- June 3, 2009)

The sun
forgot about us yesterday on the sand,
the smooth rumor of the sea wrapped us,
your body gave me heat,
I was cold
and, there,
in the sand,
between the two of us was born this poem,
this poor poem of love
for you.

My fruit, my flower,
my story of love,
my caresses.

My humble lamp,
my April rain,
my avarice.

My piece of bread,
my old saying,
my poet.

The faith that I lost,
my road and
my wagon.

My sweet pleasure,
my dream of yesterday,
my luggage.

My tepid corner,
my better song,
my landscape.

My spring,
my sugarcane land,
my wealth.

My firewood,
my home,
my ceiling,
my hearth,
my nobility.

My source,
my thirst,
my ship,
my net
and the sand.

Where I felt your skin,
where I wrote you
my poem...
