Martin Short says Nicki Minaj needs to 'grow up' after 'American Idol' fight

In addition to Anderson Cooper labeling Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey fighting during an "American Idol" auditions taping a stunt, Martin Short says both women need to "grow up."
Speaking out via Cooper's daytime talk show, Martin Short feels as though the pendulum of reality and classlessness has swung too far.
"Did no one at any time, by accident, finish school. There has got to be a stop at one point. I'm tired of the term diva. Grow up. Show some elegance and get some manners," Short said on "Anderson Live" (video below). "I understand it's a pendulum. It's likely to swing back, but as long as people like you are watching it... I mean if no one watched these shows the pendulum would stop. People watching it doesn't help the cause of elegance."
Agreeing with Martin Short, Anderson compared the incident of Minaj screaming at Carey, and reportedly threatening to "knock" her "out," to the recent "Real Housewives of New Jersey" reunion. Even still, he said he simply does not believe someone would just tape what happened. It had to be an inside job to get people watching.
"I don't believe that's for real. I think they released that video to get people talking about it," said Anderson. "Who would suddenly have a cell phone camera to suddenly tape?"
As previously reported, producers shut down auditions to give both women time to cool off Tuesday. It is unclear if they will be making any changes to the recently finalized line up of judges.
