CNN Celebrates Anderson Cooper’s Birthday With ‘Turtle Man’ And A Giant Anderson Cake

It was hard to imagine how his CNN co-workers would top their birthday celebrations for Anderson Cooper last year, when they brought him a literal dog and pony show. Last night’s “Ridiculist” was cut short for something even wackier and confusing for Cooper– a visit from Animal Planet’s “Turtle Man” with some sort of gigantic deadly beast Cooper was advised not to touch, and a bust of Cooper made out of cake.
Cooper seemed surprised for some reason that on the last day on air before his birthday (which is actually this Sunday), Isha Sesay interrupted his Ridiculist to set off the studio’s confetti while a producer danced manically in the background, and Turtle Man began shrieking and placed a concerned-looking turtle in front of Cooper. He suppressed his urge to pet the turtle, which Turtle Man insisted could eat his hand “right off.”
Then the Cake Boss brought out a bust of Cooper that looked more or less like an actual statue bust of Cooper himself, perhaps not entirely accurate, but definitely delicious-looking. We’re already dying to know what Sesay and company going to cook up for Cooper next year to top themselves this time.
