Anderson Cooper Compares Fat Cat To 'Big Tub Of Jello'

POOR MEOW, TIPPING THE SCALE AT 37 pounds and being forced to succumb to the white heat of fame, all for our entertainment pleasure.

Here is is visiting Anderson Cooper in New York today. Some say it's the closest that Cooper ever got to a, a, a, pussycat. Cooper took it in stride, even if he did rudely compare Meow to a "big tub of Jello."

The 2-year-old feline was turned into a shelter in Santa Fe, New Mexico because his 87-year owner could no longer take care of him. Some speculate that he was on a hot dog diet. Meow's so fat that shelter managers won't even consider placing him in a home until he loses weight.

Kristen Johnston who cohosted the show, asked, "But seriously, what's wrong with a fat cat?"
